My Pioneer just started making a loud screech or squeaking noise during the coal feed cycle. It doesn't do it on every cycle tho.
What is the warranty on the Pioneer? The feed works fine, just squeaks during its cycle sometimes. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'd check the bearing.Maybe spray it with a little WD40 or Kroil.

Usually a screech is a piece of coal where it is not supposed to be.

Could be wedged somewhere in the feed.

It could be a bearing, its not a piece of coal tho...I've heard that sound before. This is metal on metal type noise. I haven't had this apart yet. Is there an arm with a bearing on it, I noticed that on the parts list.

Look from the back where the feeder motor is.There's an arm with a bearing that moves the carpet feeder.

How old is it ? If it is more than a season old was it cleaned? If you have very dusty coal it can get under the pusher carpet or rust builds under there and can cause this. The carpet can be removed while running if there is not a lot of build up on it. Be careful it will be hot. The feed mtr must be unplugged then dropped pay attention to the orientation it can be reversed and it will bind if it is. Then grab the back of the carpet with a heavy glove and slide it out. If it does not pull out easily it will need to be shut down and cleaned. A big chunk of coal can cause a screeching sound.
