I was asked by another member here for pictures of my AA motor setup for ashing. My AA130 came to me with a 300# hopper and a motor, pulleys, and chains to operate the ash mechanism. As soon as I can figure out how to right them I'll post them up here for anyone looking to go this way.

These pictures are always the ones that misbehave.

What do you mean by righting them-the pictures or the AA?
The motor does multiple jobs as it always has operating the fan,
ashing mechanism and chain drive to rotate the open ribbon auger.

Its not like your operating a traveling grate Riley stoker with all its
internal piping to create super heated water and steam.

The AA units are not complicated and they simply require basic maintenance.

The unit that Rick386 and many others own are still operating after 50 plus years.

As for righting them, I mean so they are right side up. I can't seem to make that happen when I put them in here.

As for the rest of what you mentioned...no this one doesn't.

This particular motor on MY AA does one job, ashing.

I've already stated the reason why I made this post. Thank you for your attention though.

I did something similar for ashing, but my new added motor still does rotate the auger tube first, primarily, and the actual ashing motion is still driven off the rotating auger cam and ratchet assembly. It is a nice upgrade to not have the auger tumbling needlessly every time the fan is called to run. :)
I also added a digital controller with a K-thermocouple to take the place of the stock Anthrastat. And with this digital controller now signaling a solid state relay (SSR) controlling the added motor, the original solenoid operated latch is not needed any longer. The SSR does the start and stops for the combined feed auger and ashing tasks.

In my never ending quest to "tinker", I also replaced the belt drive fan motor with a 3 phase equivalent and powered it by a variable frequency drive unit to allow for fine speed control of the motor/fan. My VFD is input by 1 phase 240 VAC and then outputs the 3 phase 240 VAC that the motor requires. 8-)
