Well this sucks. 75 degrees yesterday, 80 degrees today and 80 degrees tomorrow, sunny the whole time. All 60's in the forecast for the foreseeable future.
Ho well, I guess that's it for Winter down here!
The barrel is down to the auger. I couldn't really justify filling it up again with that forecast, so I shut it down.
I put 300 pounds in 11 days ago, that's 27.3 pounds per day over the last 11 days.
I still got plenty of coal left. Last year I think it was June 1st when I shut down the Yellow Fame, that was a long Winter! I used 9 ton last year, I think only about 4 ton so far this year.
The Gentleman Janitor boiler has turned out to be a great coal saver. The EFM S-20 runs effortlessly and I love the fines clean out lever!
I am considering putting the Gentleman Janitor in the basement for next Winter and running the New Old Stock Gentleman Janitor stoker in it. I will keep the EFM down there right next to it so I can swap it back in if I need to. The Gentleman Janitor stoker might not digest rice coal to well.
