Hope I'm not too, too late. Mr. Herald #6 is heating a portion of the house as we speak.

Never too late to show off all the stoves doing what they do best. I have had my base heater cruising along heating the house since Oct 6th. Wife was chilly and wanted the stove going :D. I also have a new addition to the stove family, it is heating my office and shop. It is a Keeley 12" base burner. This size works so much better in my shop then the big 16" Orbon Base burner I used last year. The Orbon by the way is currently heating my fathers house and has converted him to the dark rock side :D.

OK, I'll bite. The king of all stoves is the large mica stove like my RC Garnet #48. The heat just radiates out of the 72 windows here is nothing like it. The double heater feature is warming the bedroom upstairs quite nicely. However, it you want 72* up there then this is not for you. However, it's always 58--64* and that suits us nicely. The cold air intake for the double heater is in the basement and it was cold down there. Now it's 64* and is remarkably consistent. So I have a rudimentary three floor CH system that requires no power. LOVE IT.

Just cleaned it out as it's a 55* day and I am building up the base to fill the hopper. JUst ticking over.

4" pipe from the basement yes convection works and this sets up a cold air return through the basement door and hot air goes downwards here.

What do you mean does anyone use their antique stoves for heating. Awesome power and beauty. Never to late to stop a thread like this going stale.

HA, in that setting it looks like something that was fired up to power the generators for early IRON BUTTERFLY concerts down in the bowls of "The Filmore"

The cellar in Transylvannia complete with torture tools. Ya gotta tell me about the string, is that a 100 year old thermostat device? I think I have one somewhere but have never set it up.

A Hotblast furnace is an antique ???????????????????

I thought this thread was for antique stoves ?

Actually I had hoped that was what this thread was for

We can find those box store furnaces on many threads.

The antique thermostatic assembly works really well. I thought a schematic might help.

That's right WH you tell them. Now look guys this weekend is going to the coldest of the year, which stove do I connect in the back room?

Fire up the biggest stove

Looks like some brutal temps coming

The stove hooked up in the pic looks like a decent choice. :)

Make an STL file and run it through your 3D printer.
