I found a local fellow who has been in the furnace parts and selling business since...well, I think since the Good Lord created coal, LOL.

He buys old furnaces, tears them down, puts the parts on the shelf. I needed grates for my old Sears handfed furnace a while back. I took the old one in, walked out with a "new" one that went right in :)

WCM,
There's many routes you can take.

Woodman's Parts Plus carries a stock of reproduction grates. http://www.woodmanspartsplus.com/Parts/Wood-and-Coal/D65649.html

If it's quite old, you can contact the many professional stove restoration shops such as Wilsons Woodstoves 508-763-8941. Wilson doesn't have a website but he and Stove Hospital are members here.
Stove Hospital. http://stovehospital.com/

Barnstable Stove Shop. http://barnstablestove.com/index.php

I've gotten antique stove parts from Stanley Iron Works. http://www.antiquestovesbystanleyiron.com/
And from Once Upon A Time Stove Shop. http://antiqueglenwoodstoves.com/forsale.html

I got replacement grates for a 100+ year old stove from Bryant Stoves in Maine. http://www.bryantstove.com/parts.html

And if no one has a replacement, often, your broken grate can be used as a pattern to cast a new grate. Tomahawk Foundry specializes in casting replacement parts from the broken parts of old stoves. http://www.tomahawkfoundry.com/
