Why thank you Larry! I'm glad you enjoyed it on this very cold evening.

It's a shame you can't put a fire view door on the AHS!

-Don
Not a AHS, but I added a "fire view flapper" on a Axeman-Anderson last season. :)

I'll have to figure out how to post up a video of the Blue Vortex.

I filled up with 300 pounds more. This went for only 8 days this time, 37.5 pounds per day. I have been using the radiator a lot lately, not surprised coal usage is up.

I put all my wet, snow covered clothes on or near the radiator. I LOVE having a radiator! I'm on the hunt for more.

SD,nice video :) except for the snow part, :) I saw way too much snow these last 2 days. I drug my 16" 2 cycle blower up on our house roof & the shop roof. It is still alot of work clearing a roof with a blower, but not nearly as hard as shoveling or sweeping is. I actually bought this little blower just for blowing snow off our 2 roofs.

I'm still getting a load of fines out of this thing. I guess it's OK if I remember to pull the lever.

Don't forget to get a pack of razor blades to clean the glass with! It takes about a minute or so to get the glass cleaned up like new.

I just cleaned the glass with a razor blade. It gets pretty dirty, it still cleans up pretty well though.

Filled up today with about 300 pounds. That's 50 pounds per day over the past 6 days. I had the radiator in the garage running from last Thursday night until last night, LO limit set to 160*. The garage stayed above 60*. Over those 4 days we had the coldest temps this Winter. Today started with snow and freezing rain, by the time I was coning home from work it was sunny and 50 degrees! I guess it's Spring time.

Currently Radiator pump OFF, LO limit 150*.

The boiler and stoker are getting a bit dirty out here in the garage. Refinishing radiators and boilers creates a lot of dust and over-spray.

I filled it up with 300 more pounds today. That's 27.3 pounds per day over the last 11 days.

When I went to fill it, the auger was fully exposed and the fire had shrunk a lot. I opened the fire door and put some coal on top. I was in a big hurry to go out and pick up a Monster radiator. When I got back I saw this. Fire door still open and the fire was out.

This was my first outfire! I put some charcoal in a bag and re-lit it. It lit right up with no problem.

The fire was so impressive I posted a video of it.

The heat call was met right at the end of the video.

Well this sucks. 75 degrees yesterday, 80 degrees today and 80 degrees tomorrow, sunny the whole time. All 60's in the forecast for the foreseeable future.

Ho well, I guess that's it for Winter down here!

The barrel is down to the auger. I couldn't really justify filling it up again with that forecast, so I shut it down.
I put 300 pounds in 11 days ago, that's 27.3 pounds per day over the last 11 days.

I still got plenty of coal left. Last year I think it was June 1st when I shut down the Yellow Fame, that was a long Winter! I used 9 ton last year, I think only about 4 ton so far this year.

The Gentleman Janitor boiler has turned out to be a great coal saver. The EFM S-20 runs effortlessly and I love the fines clean out lever!

I am considering putting the Gentleman Janitor in the basement for next Winter and running the New Old Stock Gentleman Janitor stoker in it. I will keep the EFM down there right next to it so I can swap it back in if I need to. The Gentleman Janitor stoker might not digest rice coal to well.
