Need Hitzer 503 Help Now. Furnace Is Out and 10 Degrees
Hello,
I have not used my stove this year due to cheap oil. Furnace is out. My son cleaned the stove out in the spring and sprayed with WD40 but he did not put the bricks back in. I need a picture so I know how to put them in.
Thanks!

Step 2 - both sides, 2 full bricks (start w/rear filling steps 2-4)
Step 3 - both sides, 1" wide brick
Step 4- both sides, 2 full bricks
Step 5 front , 2 full bricks horizontal
All bricks in, ready to burn !
Yes burning. Both main level with Hitzer and lower level. They both lit no problem and burned thru the night. I had to go pick up a few bags of coal. Very expensive still $7.25 per bag and 300 per ton. Only bough 6 bags. The Hitzer gobbled up 2 1/2 bags just to fill after loading. I just put the remainder of the third bag in. I need to get that furnace running today.

Ya need to get more coal & keep the old girl full up!
Hard to justify keeping it going when oil is $1.28 per gallon and daily maintenance or hauling.
Got my boiler going. It was the coupling that goes between the motor and the pump. It looked perfect but looks are deceiving. Even though it looked like new it was stripped and was not turning the pump.

My stove is off, given the low cost of oil as well. Since 20 JAN ... I intend on filling up the oil tank again on 20 FEB to see how much oil I burned for a month, do calculations, and make a decision.ColdHouse wrote:Hard to justify keeping it going when oil is $1.28 per gallon and daily maintenance or hauling.

I got a few tons of coal on hand ... I assume it will still burn next season if not this.

Ah, I think you better use it, otherwise it will go stale...davidmcbeth3 wrote:I got a few tons of coal on hand ... I assume it will still burn next season if not this.
