I know when the heating season is over and it's OK to plant my garden. When I sign on and I click on New and I get this:

So I planted 10 pounds of potatos and two packages of Kentucky Wonder pole beans and sat on the back porch and pondered the condition of the world.

Inspired by just about nothing...... Flat-Line and really dunno why..... I wish it were only me,but I see it's not !

The Baby's graduating from college this weekend,and I'm busy trying to figure out just where in the Hell those Four Years went !

It's over. Shut basement DS down last week. Continual one match run from late Sept till last week. Upstairs Hitzer only run a little shy of two months in mid winter and had several windowstat days due to it.
Over the past 5 years I have noticed my 30 year old brick chimney cracking between the bricks and upper liners cracked also. The cap mortar deteriorated to a point that it allowed water to creep down thru the chimney for about 6 feet from the top. Time to repair!
For past 2 days I assisted my friend who happens to be a Masonary guy remove the top 6 feet (brick) below that is concrete block. Decided I have had enough of the brick thing and we re-assembled it with concrete blocks and new liners with a good thick concrete cap which will be a lot tougher than simple mortar as on the old cap. When it is fully set I am going to coat it with Dry Lock.
Those 100 lb. cement chimney blocks have my old back crying for mercy

We did build a crude slide to get them up to the roof which helped somewhat.

Forgot to mention new steel roof going on next week. Didn't make sense to do roof before chimney. Anyhow that is why there is no flashing seen in the pic.

Today is a day of rest

Next up is removal of the remains of the old chimney section. That job is all mine

I wont be involved in new roof install so my back can devote itself to walking the dog, mowing lawn and other sundry forms of easy stuff. Soon I need to start assembly of the G6 and would prefer to do that on the hearth where it will sit as soon as I can remove the Hitzer which in weight is awsome
