Note that these stats do not include standard bots like Google which actually inflate many site stats. Yesterday we had 2502 visitors, a visitor is considered someone with a unique IP that hasn't visited in one hour. So if someone comes back in an hour they get counted again. Looking at unique IP's gives some better numbers, generally speaking that number is more than 1000.
The bandwidth used yesterday was 1.2GB's , Roughly 70% of that is pure text files and they are gzipped so they are much smaller than your average text page. Images are cached client side so they do not take up much bandwidth. To put 1.2GB into perspective if you were going to download that much yourself with no overhead(not going to happen) and a constant stream of data (not going to happen either):
- 56kps Dial-Up: 47:37:08
- 256 Kbps DSL: 10:25:00
- 10 Mbps Cable: 00:16:00
As far as specific forum statistics these are somewhat skewed as this forum has been online since October or 2004 so stats are generated from that. First a little history. this forum really began to take off after Katrina in 2005 Even going back to June of 2006 it was still somewhat sparse. Note the difference between the layout of each... the June 2006 archive was after I changed the structure around. During that change I unfortunately made a very big mistake and lost about 300 topics/1000 posts all related to stokers.
In any event here's the stats:
- Board started: Fri Oct 01, 2004 8:35 pm
- Number of posts: 56026
- Posts per day: 39.00
- Number of topics: 5046
- Topics per day: 3.51
- Number of users: 2441
- Users per day: 1.70
- Number of attachments: 5335
- Attachments per day: 3.71
- Avatar directory size: 1.15 MiB
- Database size: 204.29 MiB
- Size of posted attachments: 1637.74 MiB
I'd venture to guess posts per day are approaching 200 per day at least at this point if not more.
