anyone interested .messick site has the the new up to date DS anthramax and the DS 1500 circulator on his site for comparrison ,they are both same size stoves so is said but pay close attention to the ant. and circ. /how they are burninig and to what he says or hom helped out on the video approx. 9 min long but to me they were NOT in commparison to each other as he states why the circ was burning hotter than the ant, geeeee look and see how it went ,am in know way knocking his time or vid. but take a look see thanx .guys .enjoy :) :) :)

Thanks for posting -- found the video here:


I notice the Anthramax has a heat shield on the back, and solid shields over the sides rather than screens, with air openings at bottom and top. It seems like both the new side and back design would substantially increase convection by enclosing and channeling the air, compared to the DS 1500. He says the Anthramax looks better than the 1500, but I disagree, I've grown to appreciate the looks of my 1300 though my wife still make a face when she contemplates it. :)

rb im with you on the looks tired of modern modern modern etc I and the wife like the looks of the circ. series!!!! :)

It looks even better without the Fisher looking spinners on the ash door.

that what I got and the newerhopper lid with the circles we like it a lot and as said earlier we like the looks of the stove period !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIRST thing I did was take them off and spray them flat black.
I had the factory paint the side grilles black before shipping the stove to me.
