Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has any opinions of their coal? I see they're running a special for around $175 a ton delivered within 50 miles of Mt. Carmel and a 2 ton minimum. It seems to be a good deal, but I've never burnt theirs amd don't have a way too test it without making the trip down with a couple of buckets in my SUV.
thanks,
Storm

A friend I work with burned it last year in his Alaska stoker stove. He said it was ok, no problems. He told me it is bank coal and not dug out of the ground. I don't know if anybody else on the forum used. I know it's not the first or second choice of many on here. Wait for more reviews.

Talked to my friend today at work and he said the Atlas coal is very dusty and full of fines. More fines then he ever had from any other coal supplier. Also said he had no trouble with it burning. Before that he used Harmony. He lives in Mt. Carmel, so he does not have far to haul it.
I stopped by there yesterday and they are delivering at $175 a ton bulk with a two ton minimum. They have rice, buck and pea mix, and nut. They don't have just buck or just pea. A bit strange I thought so I asked why only the mix. The guy in the office said they have a very large customer that wants it mixed so they only have it mixed. I have burned them in the past in a Surdiac I had and it worked just fine. I didn't notice any differences. The only reason I don't burn them is I have 4 other yards that are closer and I get my coal by the bucket 40 pounds a bucket. I can choose a price ranging from $165 to $185 if I pick it up.
Nice to live in the Southern Anthracite Coal Region. Coal is cheap but the stoves are not. If your in an area where the coal is expensive, then the stoves are cheap. Now if I could just find the region in the middle......
