- Stoker Coal Boiler: KA-6
- Coal Size/Type: Rice Coal
Just wanted to let everyone know that my KA-6 has now been running 35 days non-stop without a problem! After my rookie coal burning year last year, and the issues I had with my new boiler, I was ready to give it up! But now with a nice thorough cleaning this summer of boiler & chimney, and dry Kimmels Coal and instead of that wet Reading coal, I am cruising and sleeping with both eyes shut! Thanks everyone for the help last year, every bit of advice was digested and stored for future use, if needed.

As I've said to many, this forum is the best accessory you can have for your coal burning appliance! I would not be in the one match club if not for this great group of people.

I am glad your boiler is running well Closseau,
I changed the timer motor in my Intermatic 30 minute timer a few days ago after it died and we had blow offs and it has been running with 8 pins at 15 minutes and 9 pins at 30 minutes, I have had no overshoots and the stable temperatures and low coal consumption at 6-7 threads with 130 low 150 high and 14-18 PSIG are a welcome thing after last years soap opera.
