Most of the lake effect snow has stayed just North of me, we only got about 2" of snow over night. Winds are from the North at 5 mph with peaks at 11mph. 27℉ with 20º wind chill. Gotta love my new weather station!

It was 36 here last night, on the DMV pennisula, and only forecast for 39 today....26 tonight
Woooohooooooooooo....I finally got to open the 'snap damper' on the back of the Hitzer!!!!
Rarely am I as elated with a purchase as I am with my 254, or with a "new" technology, like burning coal!

that still leaves the day job and tryin to make deliveries and operate big equipment on open jobsites in negative temps, wind and low visisbility, oh the joy
figure I still have 4-5 yrs. of that left then i'm outa there.
be careful out there

goin for 0* OAT topped by 15 mph wind by morning.
came home and got ahead of it with a good de-ash and shake down followed by the first full to the rim and coned fire pot of the season.
using my new L.A. nut and so far it's everything I remember from back in '92 - '94. wonderful stuff.
just may call in sayin the car won't start just to sit and watch it burn.
happy heating,
steve

With coal heat, I have become accustomed to sitting around the house in my underwear....
but since I have lost 71 lbs since August 1st, I don't look near as hideous as I used to.

Congrats on the weight loss RRBoy. that kind of success should be recognized.
hope it was intentional and not due to illness.
turns out it's -2 F here this morning, no wind yet. should be up to 15-25 mph later.

Wind chill is 15° No snow yet but they are calling for lake effect snow warning through Friday. Big congrats......that is not easy to do, way to go! Good thing you have the coal stove this year since you are walking around with less 'insulation'!RRBoy wrote:I have lost 71 lbs since August 1st,
Maybe you mentioned it somewhere, but where are you sourcing your coal? I am just north of you and am always checking if there is more convenient source than driving to Quarryville.

Forecast is saying a high of 19 tomorrow with wind chill in the negatives. Saying we could possibly get 3-6" snow Friday night into sat along with some ice.
