The feed rate is all the way clockwise in. I bought a new fan/high limit switch. Put it in and we are now off and running, we'll see, everything points to that switch. My Temps are on at 150 off at 100 with the new switch.
I know this thing can be a heating monster just gotta get the bugs worked out.
I'll repost back later after a few hrs.
As for the thermostat question, I'm jumped then together and let run for 24 hrs. Still same result

Crap! Do you have the direct vent model?
They are wired with a "Fume Switch" and that, when activated, can have the same symptoms as the faulty F/L Switch... cutting off the power.

So I installed the new fan switch and got the same result. I do not have a power vent or direct vent option.
My stove is a 6" top vent hooked to a 6" stainless chimney directly above stove. no bends or 90's
I was messing around with the stove more this weekend. My stove as the center vent on it that comes out the front. It also has a 6" vent off the top of the stove that you can hook into ducting. I've had that cap due to stove being on my main floor. Well this weekend I took that cap off and let it vent through there and it did not shut down.
I was under the impression that this stove could run with either or blocked off but I guess not. Does that make since to anyone?

Yes this is what I'm gathering. I'm not sure if this is ok or what the next step is.Olllotj wrote:Hmmm. The fan isn't scrubbing enough heat off of the stove with the plug in, causing the high limit to trip.

Well, that stove model is the double wall jacketed model, due to being double wall it has no good way to dump all the heat produced when a good portion of the air flow is trapped behind the cap/plug.DENNIS BAUER wrote:Yes this is what I'm gathering. I went with this stove because the price was right at the time. I'm at this point trying to get it right so I can sell it this summer. I'm actually going to try and block off the front and run the 6" top duct with a 90* elbow on it and see what that does. Mine as well tinker with it a little. A close friend of mine wants this stove next year and I want it right before I sell it to him. With chasing this issue I'll have a back up for just about everything and I also know every square inch of how this stove works.
And no worries, I'm not getting out of the coal game, switching to a Hitzer 50-93 to work with my 30-95 in the garage. Buying two different coals in bulk is no fun.
Either way this stove needs to be right so on with the tinkering I go!
