Got a phone call during shaking, left the grate slightly off center and took the call.
Came back and ended up flipping the grate .... ash and coals down into the ash pan.
After cleaning out the ash pan 3x ... I re-righted the grate and moved some of the coals from the other half onto the half that was clear of coal (lucky it did not "avalanche" down into the empty section).
Added about 15 lbs of coal and awaiting that to get burning and then fill it back up.
Such as it is .. the life of a coal burner.
Still a million times better than oil !
And no broken grates this time !

Just wasn't paying attention .. came back to stove from opposite side as before at beginning of shake...so I continued to shake the same direction.coalfan wrote:how dis you flip the grate ? its good you got your fire back .
Me strong....I snap grates as easily as the Falcons allow TDs.
