- Other Heating: oil but not much
no the cost of mining, wages,,transportation will remain the same, demand will fluctuate price some and demand is down and so is price, can't see it going much lower and it should not

Not trying to be a smart alec,but when employee wages drop,maybe coal prices will drop too...
Nope,that won't happen .
Oil price goes up,coal mining costs go up too.

My take is that if the worldwide demand for steel goes up, anthracite prices will go up. If steel demand remains depressed, anthracite prices will remain low.

in the case of coal, $135.00 a ton bulk anthracite nut will go up by just over 33% even if all other elated costs remain static.
if you intend to continue this coal based home economy I suggest you buy as much as you can as soon as you can.
then find and if nec. personally rebuild the most eff. heater for your application.
close up as many leaks in the envelope and add as much insulation as possible.
