Gee, this is pretty obvious to anybody who has touched a coal grate.

"We are re-measuring it. It is almost two years since the major Nepal earthquake," Surveyor General of India Swarna Subba Rao said in late January during the Geospatial World Forum in the city of Hyderabad, India.

"After that, there is a doubt in the scientific community that it is shrinking. That is one of the reasons. Second reason is, it helps in scientific studies, plate movements," he added.

From the article.

"Even a small decrease from an earthquake will eventually rebound as the Himalayas continue to lift each year by approximately 0.4 of an inch, according to the Smithsonian Magazine. "

All of these shifting plates, entire mountain ranges growing and shrinking, wouldn't that have some effect on sea level? Seems that if the mountain grows nearly a half inch per year that it left a void somewhere. And when it gets shook back down it must displace something somewhere. Never heard any discussion of this from the globull warming people.

The link is a short demo of things rising and falling from a little shaking.

This link is completely off topic, but entertaining.

Get a few more going. If the damn thing drops low enough, I may take a shot at it myself!

Do you need a Sherpa, my rates are very reasonable. Payment is in advance.

Looking at it from the base of it almost killed me. Lung filling with fluid and you gurgle when you breath in is a bit unsettling to stay the least! Rather stay closer to the level where coal is found.
