I live near a large (the nations largest?) Amish and Mennonite community. Oddly enough, they know a lot more about battery based solar and inverters, etc... than your average non Amish/Mennonite types (which the Amish call "English"). Purchasing from the Amish is how I got the batteries for $235 each.
Of course I often hear that they maintain one set of prices for the English, and another for the Amish, so if I was Amish perhaps they would have cost even less, but who knows?

I grew tired of online Peukert's Law calculators with faulty logic, so I made my own, and it is attached here. You still need to determine your battery banks Peukert exponent, but once you have the exponent this (the attached) calculator will give you correct results. Generated in LibreOffice under Linux, so please give it a spin and let me know if it works in Excel.

Nice calculation at G-10!!! Yes, it works great in Excel! According to your calculator, I have 7.76 hours to 50% discharge. I am happy with that! Thanks for the calculator and posting it.

It's actually Linux Mint, which is in the Debian camp (via Ubuntu). Ubuntu is a fork from Debian, and Linux Mint is an independently maintained Linux built upon a base of the current edition of Ubuntu.2biz wrote:So your an 'ol Red Hat Linux user?!?! The online calculator at the weblink which yielded 7.8 hours is correct. The first calculator link that I posted winds up being one of the online Peukert calculators that is no good.
