Probably about 5 inches at the moment and a lull in activity. Had the sleds out, cleared the last trail for the year, did a quick packing/grooming job and back home with a nice glass of Fireball to warm up with. Bring on the snow!!

There is always March or even April to pile one last hoo-rah up for you. Last year we got a freeze and snowfall bad enough to put and end to a local farmer who grows apples before it ever got started.SawDustJack wrote:Ok, so who scared off winter?

Very true! I know its a little early to say it, but just reacting to the stretch of weather we are having right now. 60+ on multiple days seems a little much for February. I am going to take advantage of it and shut down the stove for a clean out!Dremel wrote:There is always March or even April to pile one last hoo-rah up for you. I just plumbed in a Buderus Lagono boiler. The draft does not suck enough so I'm thinking i'll be on the roof today adding another 3 feet to the stack.

Well, Im supposed to 12-18" of the white crap tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night. Worst part is a strong, around 30MPH NE wind tomorrow which is the 2nd worst direction here for storms, east is worse. It switches to north on Saturday. luckily the warm weather melted what was here right now. i'll do my best to send the snow east so you guys and gals can get some enjoyment from it!

Glad I could help! lol Yes they will! There are a few along the Mississippi River. Probably only 300-400 foot drops, not sure, but they get huge crowds. Did it once and that was enough pain for a lifetime!

I have the Harman at 1/3 turn open on the air vent, baro isn't moving unless I open up the air. I covered it with a piece of foil to eliminate air getting past the flap. I considered letting the stove go out, but it will be just in time to clean it out and relight it on Sunday. I was shoveling coal into the firebox while I have windows open all over the place.

I seriously considered letting my Crane 404 go out earlier this week, but I didn't want to watch a bunch of disappointed cats circling the stove to see what went wrong. So I slept with windows open last nite & likely will again tonite. My EFM 520 is very capable of heating my house, but my living room is a cold clammy room without the radiant heat of the stove. I am not sure how far into March I will have the time to keep tending my stove,March is when my busy season starts & the flood gates of work usually hit around the 10th. Hopefully I can extend the comfy feel in this room for a few weeks yet & then hope the cats will be ok with a cold stove.
