The Grasshopper and the Ant

The Grasshopper and the Ant

PostBy: Eric On: Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:52 am

You've probably heard the story of the grasshopper who sings and dances all summer long while the ant is preparing for winter. When winter comes, the grasshopper regrets this strategy tremendously. Moral of the story: don't be the grasshopper.

If you are considering a boiler, coal or otherwise, for heat this winter, now is a really great time to set the wheels in motion. We are currently in our annual beginning-of-summer lull, although sales are picking up every week. We have many stock units built and the waiting period for a boiler is minimal. As some of you that have purchased from us before know, it is not uncommon for us to have 12-15 week waiting periods later in the summer. Don't be the grasshopper and wait until later. If you are thinking about a boiler for winter, there has never been a better time to act than now.

I called AHS today and was told of special pricing that is in effect until August 1st. Eric, I don't know if it is proper to reveal such on this forum, but perhaps if you thought it wise it might incentivize someone to act quickly.

Greyhound, I'm not sure about a company actually advertising prices and sales on the forum. But I know that a forum member like yourself can post information that you have discovered.

So if you find out the details of the AHS summer incentive sales please post them here so we all can have the info without each of us calling AHS.

AHS has the S-130 (and perhaps others) at $1000 off until August 1.

Moral of the story: don't be the grasshopper.

Unrelated to the sale(Which sounds darn good), still have something to add...

Every since I read this post, I keep thinking about that grasshopper... a few times a day. I have a number of tasks that need done for winter prep that I need to start now.

haha. I was hoping that my grasshopper story wouldn't be too corny. Glad to hear it has been inspirational.

As to the sale rumors, I can confirm the $1000 off for the S130 Coal Gun boiler (130,000 BTU/Hr stoker) for the month of July. I need to double check if we are running any deals on other models. If you've read my info, you'll note that I'm not a primarily a salesman. I'll check with those guys on Monday and report back with anything they've cooked up.

Also, I'm not sure about the propriety of posting sales info on this forum. Maybe we could get an admin ruling here. Would we be going too far towards advertising to post pricing/sales information in this forum? If its not a problem, I'll try to stay abreast of all that info and post accordingly.

More than welcome too, my rule about direct advertising applies to the regular forums. As I said in the e-mail you can think of this as your forum and use it as you wish.

The reason for the direct advertising rule is so it doesn't get bombarded with what boils down to spam posts where advertisers are posting just to advertise and not actually participating in the forum.

You can use Google to advertise on the entire forum if you want: http://adwords.google.com/select/Login

Sorry it took me so long to get back. There are currently no other sales on any of our other models. The S130 130,000 BTU Coal Gun is available for $1000 off until the end of July. If you call to order and no one mentions this to you, be sure to bring it to our attention. Feel free to reference me for the special pricing if needed.

My gut feeling is that there probably won't be any more sales until next spring. Demand is picking up as summer goes on, so we probably don't need to do anything to help sales along right now. Take advantage of this before the end of July.
